Medals on Tour – Newmarket
Hosted by Newmarket Jets Speed Skating Club, this special evening at the Magna Centre will welcome members of Canada’s national speed skating team, fresh off the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, for a night of skating, autographs, stories, and community connection.

About the Event
Medals on Tour is a Speed Skating Canada initiative that brings national team athletes into communities across the country for public events, club engagement, and on-ice experiences that inspire the next generation of skaters.
This event is completely free, including the club skate. As part of the evening, the Newmarket Jets are proud to support the Newmarket Food Pantry and invite our speed skating community and supporters to consider making a voluntary donation.

Open to all ages and skill levels. Enjoy a fun skate, meet Canada’s national team speed skaters, and stay for autographs and photos.
Hear directly from athletes who recently competed at the Olympic Games as they share stories from elite competition and what it means to represent Canada on the world stage.
A speed skating session led by club coaches, with Canada’s national team athletes joining skaters on the ice. This session is intended primarily for Newmarket Jets skaters, while also welcoming participants from other Speed Skating Ontario clubs.
To manage participation fairly, spots will be reserved for Jets members first. If additional space is available, registered skaters from other clubs may be invited to join.
Club skaters will have an additional opportunity for autographs and photos with the athletes to close out the evening.
