Lead Coach
Alanna Handley
Montréal, Québec · Joining Newmarket 2026/27
A two-time Olympic medallist — Salt Lake City 2002 and Torino 2006 — Alanna is one of the most credentialled coaches to join a community club program anywhere in Canada. NCCP certified and coaching since 2017, she has served as head coach of the West Island Cyclones since 2021 and has been recognized nationally for her coaching excellence.

High Performance Coach
Aidan Preudhomme
Montréal, Québec · Newmarket / Toronto / Markham
Aidan has built his coaching career at the highest levels of Quebec's short track system — the pipeline that has produced Canada's World Cup, World Championship, and Olympic athletes. He spent five years at CPV Montreal Gadbois, progressing from assistant to lead coach of their top competitive group, before moving on to CPV Montreal Centre Sud and CPV Mirabel St-Jérôme — most recently serving as lead coach and head of the sport-études program at Centre Sud. He has also served as head coach for Team Colombia and Team Argentina at Junior World Cups and World Championships. He holds a BSc in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Concordia University.
Development Coach
Zak Jackson
Newmarket, Ontario
A seasoned short track speed skater with 13 years in the sport, Zak competed at the provincial and national level before earning a spot representing Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer in 2019. Coaching since 2020, he is the longest-serving member of the Jets coaching team — a consistent, trusted presence for developing athletes and their families.
Technical Coach
Elena Park
Seoul, South Korea · Newmarket, Ontario
Competed in short track speed skating at the provincial and national level in South Korea before transitioning to coaching in Canada. Elena brings a strong focus on technical development, helping skaters build the foundational skills that underpin every level of the sport. She is currently completing her Competition Development certification, working toward becoming a nationally certified coach.
