Who We Are
Since 1997, the Newmarket Jets Speed Skating Club has been a place where skaters of all ages and abilities can learn, grow, and thrive — from children stepping onto the ice for the first time to athletes competing at provincial and national levels.
We’re a member-run, not-for-profit club affiliated with Speed Skating Ontario and Speed Skating Canada, committed to keeping the sport affordable, accessible, and athlete-focused. Every dollar goes back into our programs, equipment, and ice time — so our skaters, not shareholders, benefit.
Our Philosophy
We believe great speed skating comes from a foundation of community, dedication, and strong fundamentals. Our coaches develop each skater at the right pace for their goals — whether that’s enjoying recreational skating, improving fitness, or pursuing competitive excellence.
We value sportsmanship, teamwork, and inclusivity just as much as podium finishes, and we take pride in creating an environment where families feel welcome and athletes feel supported.
