Alisha Mullings - Head Coach
Meet Alisha, a seasoned speed skater turned passionate coach. Starting on the ice at 8, Alisha competed until university, where she studied nursing.
Discovering a love for coaching, Alisha finds joy in helping others explore the sport she adores. Formerly a speed skater enchanted by the thrill of speed and racing strategy, Alisha transitioned into coaching. Starting as a skater-assistant in Abbotsford, she later coached at the King Tornadoes Speed Skating Club with her mom. University didn't interrupt her coaching journey, contributing to the Hamilton club for a couple of seasons before returning to Newmarket.
Alisha has coached provincially and led Team Ontario at the Canada East Youth Championships twice. Certified as a fundamentals and intro to competition coach, Alisha is currently completing competition development training, embodying a commitment to continuous growth and expert guidance for emerging skaters.

Zak Jackson
Introducing Zak, a seasoned short track speed skater with an impressive 13-year journey in the sport. He's conquered provincial and national competitions, and he notably earned a spot representing Team Ontario at the prestigious Canada Winter Games Red Deer 2019.
But Zak's story doesn't stop there. Since 2020, he took on a new role as a coach, creating a bridge between his passion for the sport and his academic pursuits during his university days.
In his coaching journey, Zak has witnessed the rise of young talents in our club, achieving remarkable results. This experience has reignited his own passion for short track speed skating and reinforced his commitment to nurturing emerging skaters.

Paula McConvey - Emeritus
Meet Paula, a highly accomplished Level III Speed Skating Coach with a remarkable coaching career. She made her mark as the Speed Skating Coach for Team Ontario during the Canada Winter Games in 2007. Her dedication to the sport has earned her the prestigious title of Canadian Female Speed Skating Coach of the Year in 2008. Paula's coaching expertise has been recognized by the Ontario Speed Skating Association, where she was named Female Coach of the Year for the 2015-16 season. In 2009, Speed Skating Canada also acknowledged her exceptional contributions to coaching.
Paula is passionate about nurturing talent and invites you to explore the world of speed skating under her guidance, whether you're an aspiring athlete or a dedicated enthusiast.
